Insta Pot: What is It?
Insta Pot is the hottest topic for those who love to cook. I’ve heard about it from everyone and I’ve wanted to try one for a long time. On a lazy day spent window shopping (or website browsing), I gave in to my wish to try one. After ordering on I sat back to wait for it arrive. Fortunately it didn’t take long for the mailman to make me exceedingly happy by delivering my shiny new toy.
Instapot or more formerly known as InstaPot is a multi-purpose pressure cooker. You can use this as a pressure cooker, rice steamer, frying pan, slow cooker, and as many other things. The designers meant this as an all in one, multi-functional pot. They succeeded in their design magnificently.
According to the manufacturer:
Created for Fast-Paced, Health Oriented and Green-Conscious Lifestyles
The all new Instant Pot LUX60 V3 is an upgraded version of the Instant Pot LUX series of smart electric pressure cookers that are designed by Canadians with the objectives of being Safe, Convenient and Dependable. Instant Pot is a kitchen partner that works with you and for you.
Why Instant Pot is Better?
– Very Easy to Clean.
– Extensive Safety Mechanisms Throughout the Cooker.
– Best-in-Class Customer Service and Support.
– Strong Fan Base and Online Community.
I’ve always been a die-hard fan of the slow cooker or crock pot. My go to machine gets a work out every week when I make my main meals in it on Sunday’s. I enjoy the ease of putting my ingredients into the pot and letting them slow cook all day. My chicken comes out tender and delicious every time.
What do I think about it?
So what do I think about this new toy? They packed it well and the user manual was extensive and easy to understand. This machine also came with a recipe book. For my purposes it didn’t contain a lot of helpful recipes. I have a low carb lifestyle and it was a bit lax in the low carb recipes.
The Machine Itself:
The machine itself was easy to use with the controls being very intuitive. This makes it east to use for all of us who typically fail to read the user manual before trying it. I was very impressed with sautéing in it and then continuing on with the recipe. The steel pot itself was easy to clean up and the lid could be opened in the pressure cook function by doing a quick release. Of course I had to use that instead of waiting for it to release on its own.
I cooked a wonderful dish in it and I really enjoyed the experience.
That’s easy! Get one, get one now! I love it and I’ve used it many times now. After experiencing food prep and cooking an entrée in it using the pressure cooker setting, I would buy it again. My chicken is tender and I can cook it in 20 minutes. There is less clean up so I save money on water for washing. I have retired my crock pot!
Call to Action:
Here is the chicken recipe I used in the video. Try it, you’ll like it.
